1. Prince Henry the Navigator of Portugal Marker
His explorations and scientific accomplishments dispelled the legend of the tenebrous sea, beaconed the ocean route to India and opened the gateway of the Atlantic to the American continent. • This monument in his honor marks the eighth centennial of Portuguese national organization in 1140. Erected by the people of Portuguese descent of New England and their friends on June 30, 1940.

As suas explorações maritimas e cometimentos scientificos dissiparam a lendas do mar tenebroso, apontaram o caminho maritimo das Indias e devassaram o Atlantico para a descoberta do continente americano. • No oitavo centenario da fundação da nacionalidade Portuguesa em 1140. Se erigiu este monumento em sua honra, como homenagem dos Portugueses da Nova Inglaterra e dos seus amigos, em 30 de Junho 1940.

2. Prince Henry the Navigator Monument
The monument is set in a plaza with a mosaic design of black basalt and calcaria white stone. Included in the mosaic are Portuguese sailing ships and a compass.

1940 Bronze by Aristide Berto Cianfarani (1895-1960), American sculptor born in Italy. Statue is approx 7¾ feet tall on a 7 foot base.
