1. Where Ashby Fell Marker
Inscription. A mile and a half east of this point, Turner Ashby, Stonewall Jackson’s cavalry commander, was killed, June 6, 1862, while opposing Fremont’s advance.
 
Erected 1927 by Conservation and Development Commission. (Marker Number A-30.)
