1. Old Limestone Road Skirmish Marker
Inscription. 2 miles N.W. on old Limestone Road during a skirmish August 5, 1862 Federal General Robert L. McCook was killed by men of Capt. Frank Gurley's Confederate unit. In retaliation, the Federal forces burned and pillaged the area.
 
Erected 1965 by Alabama Historical Association.
