from this territory to land
in the West
Here soldiers camped with
one thousand Indians on
the removal of the last of the
Pottawattomies in 1838

 
Erected 1922 by Manitou Chapter Daughters of the American Revolution Rochester, Indiana.

Location. 41° 6.343′ N, 86° 13.226′ W. Marker is near Rochester, Indiana, in Fulton County. Marker is on North Old US Highway 31 north of County Road E 350 N, on the right when traveling north.
