Four regiments of this brigade took part in the attack upon Lookout, the 78th New York having been left as picket and camp guard. It crossed Lookout Creek with Geary's Division about 8 a.m. at Light's Mill near Wauhatchie, and formed the center of his line in the advance toward the north point of the mountain. Cobham's two regiments were on its right, Candy's Brigade on its left and Whitaker's Brigade of Cruft's Division formed the second line.

Continued.
The 102d New York acted as skirmishers. After advancing about a mile and quarter, the division became engaged. The brigade advanced with it under sharp fire and around the northern slope, fighting its way to a point some two hundred yards beyond the Cravens House, which line it held until relieved at 3 p.m. by troops of Candy's Brigade commanded by Col. Creighton, 7th Ohio. At Cravens' the brigade passed over two abandoned guns of Howell's (GA.) Battery, Lieut. R.T.
