This brigade, as the right of Osterhaus' Division covored the construction of a bridge over Lookout Creek a half mile above the railroad crossing, and upon the appearance of Geary's line on the western slope of Lookout crossed the creek about 11.30 a.m. and moved over the nose of the mountain with its left on the river road. This movement resulted in the capture of a large body of pickets opposite Williamson's Brigade at the lower bridge. The command advanced in the face of sharp firing until it left rested near the eastern foot opposite the mouth of Chattanooga Creek. The right of the line engaged the enemy with Geary's and Cruft's troops about Cravens', and continued to operate with them until the withdrawal of the Confederate forces from the mountain at

Marker is on Caroline Street, 0.1 miles north of Military Road, on the right when traveling north. Marker is located near the grounds of (down the slope from) the Cravens' House, a unit of the Chickamauga-Chattanooga National Military Park.
