Army of the Mississippi
These regiments formed on echelon, left in front, charged the Union line in their front at 4.30 p.m. April 6, 1862 and were repulsed with heavy loss. They retired to camp of 8th Illinois.

About 200 yards north of Cavalry road on a trail starting near 52nd Illinois monument, in Shiloh National Military Park. Touch for map.
