County Heritage Association (WCHA) is working on the Confederate Monument Restoration. The WCHA is pleased that Walton County has given its consent for the restoration of the urn and hand that once crowned the Confederate Monument. The WCHA will begin our fundraising efforts at their Tenth Anniversary Celebration on the 4th of July. The Walton County Confederate Monument, which is on the courthouse grounds, was the first monument in Florida to honor those who gave their lives during the Civil War, and it has a remarkable history in its own right. Tax deductible contributions can be sent to the WCHA, 1140 Circle Drive, DeFuniak Springs, FL 32435. Please help the WCHA restore and preserve this special piece of local history!

3. Repairs to this Monument
The Walton County Heritage Association (WCHA) has raised the funding to repair the Monument so in the near future, after the Monument company the is through making the repaired pieces, there will be a unveiling of the repaired marker and it will look complete again.
