Inscription. The Carrie M. Stone Cottage was made possible primarily through the efforts of Brown's longtime friend, Daisy S. Bright. Stone Cottage, named for the wife of Palmer's largest benefactor, Galen L. Stone of Boston, also was called the teachers' cottage. Built in 1948, the structure is similar to the Massachusetts Congregational Women's Cottage. The cottage provided housing for unmarried female teachers.
