The Nalle Rescue
April 27, 1860
Near this site on Broadway, Charles Nalle,
a fugitive slave from Culpepper, Virginia,
was rescued from slave catchers by
Harriet Tubman and citizens of Troy and
West Troy (Watervliet), completing an
epic struggle begun in Troy.

Marker is at the intersection of 16th Street and Broadway, on the right when traveling east on 16th Street. Touch for map.
