Williams' (1st) Brig., Hurlbut's (4th) Div.,
Army of the Tennessee.

This regiment was engaged here from about 11.30 a.m. to 2 p.m. April 6, 1862, when it fell back to its camp, and at 4 p.m. retired to the siege guns.

On a trail in the woods, 60 yards east of a small field opposite the Peach Orchard on the east side of Hamburg-Savannah road. Touch for map.
