1. Rocca Park Marker
Inscription. Passed away July 6, 1921 at the family home on Algerine Road at the age of 77. John Rocca was a man of strong personality and rare business judgement. He gained a wide host of friends and accumulated land and business undertakings which he managed successfully. John Rocca acquired considerable property in the Algerine Road area and in the town of Jamestown including this land which was donated for a park in 1980 by his daughter Edna Rocca Collard. He took an active interest in all matters in which the county's progress or welfare was involved. He served on the Board of Supervisors. John Rocca was twice married and beloved father of 19 children. It has been said that his funeral was the largest ever seen in Tuolumne County.
