Association president, Lynn Kopka, unveiled this historic marker as neighbors and supporters looked on. The marker states that Washington Park is one of only two privately owned and maintained urban residential parks in New York State, the other being the famous Gramercy Park in Manhattan. The cast iron sign is located inside the cast-iron fence in the northeast corner of Washington Park. The marker had been commissioned by a former resident, Peter LaRocca, but not installed until now.
