At the age of twenty seven years
he achieved
the Victory of Lake Erie
September 10, 1816

Born in South Kingstown, R.I.
August 23, 1785
Died at Port Spain, Trinidad
August 23, 1819
Aged 34 years

His remains
were conveyed to his native land
in a ship of war,
according to a resolution
of Congress
and were here interred.
December 4, 1826.
