While this Brigade with the exception of the 65th Georgia left at Hall's Ford was assaulting on the front, Trigg's brigade had crossed the ridge to the left of Kelly upon the ground from which Steedman's Division had withdrawn at sunset and gained the rear of the troops still remaining in front of Kelly. A charge by the latter at dusk drove the right of three Union regiments which had operated with the left of Steedman's Division but had not received notice to withdraw over the crest and most of them were captured between the lines of Kelly and Trigg.

This historical marker is located in the northwest section of the Chickamauga National Military Park, near the Snodgrass Hill area of the driving tour, along the part of the battlefield known as Horseshoe Ridge. To view this historical marker drive to the parking area for Horseshoe Ridge (just beyond the Snodgrass House tour stop) and proceed westward on foot, along the southern crest of the ridge for a little more than 0.2 of a mile, to the lowlands just beyond the high ground on Hill #3, and just in the woods off of the park trail. 2. Kelly's Brigade. Marker

View, looking north, of the historical tablet in the foreground, and in the background, by the park trail, the 41st Tennessee monument, and in the distant background, beyond the trail, the 98th Ohio Monument.

I used the "Chickamauga Battlefield" map, that I purchased at the Chickamauga and Chattanooga National Military Park, Visitor Center, to determine both the marker number for this monument and the monument's location in relation to the rest of the park's monuments, markers, and tablets. According to the map it provides the, "numerical listing of all monuments, markers, and tablets on the Chickamauga Battlefield (using the Chick-Chatt NMP Monument Numbering System).”
