in Ballston Spa, New York in Saratoga County. Constructed in 1804, it was planned as the laundry house for the Sans Souci Hotel but built as a duplex. Doubleday lived in this house while his father, Ulysses, published two newspapers, the Saratoga Courier and Saratoga Republican.
