1. Morgan ~ On To Ohio Marker

Inscription. July 2, 1863, CSA Gen. J.H. Morgan began raid to prevent USA move to Tenn. and Va. Repulsed at Green River, July 4. Defeated USA force at Lebanon, July 5. Moved through Bardstown, July 6. After night march, crossed here July 7. Rested troops few hours and proceeded to Brandenburg. Crossed to Indiana, July 8. He continued raid until captured in northeast Ohio, July 26.

Erected 1971 by Kentucky Historical Society and Kentucky Department of Highways. (Marker Number 1413.)
