1. Chattanooga, a City of Historical Significance Marker
Inscription. Chattanooga, a city of historical significance from the Civil War Battles through both World Wars, has seen many people travel through its valley. The popular Glenn Miller tune of the 1940's has forever made famous this railway station that is known today as the Chattanooga Choo Choo. As part of the Tennessee Heritage Trails, a written guide to the state, the Chattanooga Choo Choo welcomes its visitors to experience our history and legacy forever immortalized in "The Chattanooga Choo Choo".

Location. 35° 2.252′ N, 85° 18.387′ W. Marker is in Chattanooga, Tennessee, in Hamilton County. It is in the Southside Historic District. Marker can be reached from Market Street (Tennessee Route 8) north of East 14th Street, on the left when traveling south. This marker is a very small marker that is located at the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel, on the grounds of the Chattanooga Choo Choo Terminal, directly below the 'Military History of Chattanooga" marker and between the two "Tennessee Heritage Trail" signs. View of the Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel sign, which is situated in front of the former Chattanooga Railway Terminal which has been transformed into the present day Chattanooga Choo Choo Hotel, and it is on the grounds of this hotel that this marker is located.
