1. St. Mary's Cemetery Marker
Inscription. This cemetery was established circa 1797. Its presence preceded the church parish. Many of the early graves were ground burials, which were marked with wrought iron crosses. The St. Mary Pamela Corporation was later formed by the local congregation to care for the cemetery. In 1850, a church was erected under the leadership of Rev. Charles M. Menard. On August 3rd of that year, the church was dedicated as St. Mary’s Nativity.
