By the end of the war, it is estimated that Oliver Pollock contributed almost $300,000 of his own money which is equivalent to nearly a billion dollars in today's money to the Revolutionary War and these finances helped the US win the battles of the Northwest Territory (5 states bordering the Great Lakes). He asked for US financial help but the US did not help and he was imprisoned in Havana, Cuba for debts but Bernardo De Galvez paid for his release.
