On Sept. 20, 1863 the division
advanced across the LaFayette
Road, piercing the Union center
at the Brotherton Farm. The
division moved on to assault
Snodgrass Hill throughout the
afternoon until sundown when
the Union forces withdrew to
Chattanooga resulting in a
victory for the Confederacy.
