Regarding Footprint of Baden Powell. The 1928 Scouting World Conference was officially opened on May 4 in Budapest, Hungary. The next day, the delegates went on an excursion to Lake Balaton and other places returning to Budapest in the afternoon. That evening, Baden-Powell, his wife Olave and Lord Hampton arrived. On May 6, there was a rally at the Hárshegy Training Park with many Scouts and public attending. The small additional marker reads: Tratad de dejar este mundo en mejores condiciones de como lo encontrasteis…Lord Baden Powell (English: Try to leave this world in better condition than how you found it...Lord Baden Powell).
From this cast two bronze copies were made, one was for the Hárshegy Training Park and the other was a gift to Baden-Powell, which he passed to the British Scout Headquarters. When Communists took over and banned Scouting in 1948, the training ground was confiscated and houses were built on the land; neither the original concrete footprint, nor the "Hungarian original bronze" has been seen since. This Salvadoran copy of the footprint is most likely a cast of Baden Powell's copy of the footprint cast.
William D. Campbell was a world leader of the Boy Scouts and received Scouting awards from seven countries. He helped establish the World Scout Foundation and served as its chairman from 1969 to 1977. Campbell also served on the World Scout Committee of the World Organization of the Scout Movement from 1961 until 1965, and again from 1973 to 1985. Campbell was awarded the Bronze Wolf, the only distinction of the World Organization of the Scout Movement, awarded by the World Scout Committee for exceptional services to world Scouting, in 1959. Campbell was also an Eagle Scout and recipient of both the Distinguished Eagle Scout Award and Silver Buffalo Award (adapted from Wikipedia).
