Regarding Assassination of Maria Chinchilla. María Chinchilla Recinos, commonly known as María Chinchilla, (September 2, 1909 – June 25, 1944) was a Guatemalan schoolteacher who was assassinated by the military forces of General Jorge Ubico while taking part in a peaceful anti-government demonstration. She is honored as a national heroine. The date of her assassination, June 25, is Guatemala's Teachers Day.
