1st Lieutenant Norman A. Baldwin, Commanding.
2d Lieutenant James H. Hill.
2d Lieutenant David H. Troup.

At day-light the Battery came into this position on right of Brigade front line and commenced the construction of a high breastwork of logs in front of the Battery finishing it by 6 A.M. The Battery remained in this position during the day, aiding in repulsing the repeated assaults of the enemy in the forenoon and retired with the Brigade under orders soon after 5 o'clock under a most severe artillery fire from two directions.
During the day two guns were disabled and were replaced by two guns from Lieutenant Russell's Battery M, 4th U.S. Artillery in Reserve. The Battery encamped for the night at Rossville. Casualties of the day: 1 man killed, 5 wounded, and 4 missing: Horses killed and disabled 11: 3 James guns disabled, 2 left on the field. Fired 986 rounds.

Location. 34° 55.684′ N, 85° 15.352′ W. Marker is in Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, in Catoosa County. Marker is on Battleline Road south of Alexanders Bridge Road, on the right when traveling south. This tablet is located in the national park that preserves the site of the Chickamauga Battlefield, The tablet is located just beyond the middle of the long line of mostly Union monuments, markers, and tablets that are situated along the length of the park's Battleline Road.
