1. 119 Westside Street Marker
Inscription. This two-story brick structure, built in 1870, is an example of the Italianate Style. Many of these buildings no longer exist, being replaced by later growth in downtown districts. The Italianate Style is distinguished by the large upper story arched and hooded windows. Note the corn motif design on the center keystones of the arches.

This is the only historic commercial building in Alabama with an interior staircase that is circular, freestanding, and made of wood.
