Location. 34° 54.653′ N, 85° 13.913′ W. Marker is near Fort Oglethorpe, Georgia, in Catoosa County. Marker is at the intersection of Alexander Bridge Road and Viniard Road, on the right when traveling south on Alexander Bridge Road. This tablet is located in the national park that preserves the site of the Chickamauga Battlefield, just south of a large traffic island, at the intersection of two park roadways, a short distance north of the Alexander Bridge. According to the location information provided by the National Park Service, the, "Marker located within the Chickamauga Battlefield near the Alexander House Site at the intersection of Alexander Bridge Road and Alexander-Viniard Road. 1934 Chickamauga Battlefield Monument Location Map, Site #101". According to the description information provided by the National Park Service, "This standard Indiana marker consists of a 4' x 4' x 4'8" high rock-faced oolitic stone block with a peaked top and a 12" x 18" bronze plaque affixed to its front. Marks battery's position September 18, 1863, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m."
