Regarding The Morton Building / Hotel Blake. Built in 1896 by William Le Baron Jenney and Charles Mundie as the Davis Building, 328 Dearborn is widely believed have been the headquarters of Morton Salt. Indeed "Morton" is inscribed over the door. But Chicago Designslinger points out that the name was carved on the front of building when it belonged to "Levi P. Morton, once the Governor of New York and Vice-President of the United States, who bought the Dearborn Street structure in 1909." Today it is part of the Hotel Blake.
