The Sewell-Freese House is an excellent, unaltered example of Italianate architecture and the only house of its type in Covington. It was originally the home of William C. B. Sewell, a prosperous Covington businessman.

The house is in excellent condition. Its distinctive, characteristically Italianate features include the elaborate, tall, narrow main level windows, cresting, and an oval transom above the door.
