The San Antonio neighborhood perpetuates its gratitude to the sister republic of Canada for its immense humanitarian labor of clearing rubble, cleaning and reconstructing our village due to the earthquake that devasted it in the early morning hours of February 4, 1976.

This is one of the few remaining houses built by the Canadians in 1976. The simple construction included a low concrete block foundation, topped by walls of plywood on wooden studs.
