founded as the
Ithaca Conservatory of Music
September 19, 1892

Ithaca was our earliest campus,
we were at once scholars and citizens
of this town that embraced us.
Each of us they called by name and
allowed us glimmers of their own lives.
We share the unanimity and cheerful regard
in which townsfolk hold one another.
We are of them and belong to them still,
for they have lent us their name
and made us a home.
