1. The Gainsford House Marker
Inscription. This double tenement, built by John and Elizabeth Gainsford, became a landmark in a city largely built of wood. It is Charlottetown’s oldest surviving brick building. For many years the east side was the home of John Iags, editor of “The Islander” newspaper.
