English translation:
In this location the St. Thomas Aquinas Academy operated for almost a century, an example of education and discipline founded by Monsignor Merino in 1895. Parmenio Troncoso de la Concha and Manuel B. Troncoso Sánchez (Mr. Manolín) were its supporters. Thousands of illustrious citizens were formed and educated in this institution. The former students of the classes of 1968 and 1969 recognize and honor the legacy of the illustrious teachers who left their example on our society.
