Inscription. This magnificent sculpture, designed and executed by Vytautas K. Jonynas, adorned the façade of the Vatican pavilion at the Worlds Fair in New York City (1964-1965). It depicts the church militant, the church suffering, and the church triumphant, that is, the church here on earth, in purgatory and in heaven. In 1967 the Franciscans in Kennebunk, Maine dedicated this historical work of art to the silent church in Lithuania.
