erected by the workers of Jersey Central Power & Light Company and, being erected in 1941, is dedicated to workers then currently serving in the Armed Forces of the United States.

This marker also was erected before Japan attacked Pear Harbor. There is no reference to "World War II" on the marker as it was not common to refer to the ongoing war in Europe by that term at the time the marker was created.
