1. These Mill Stones Marker

Inscription. These mill stones came from Connecticut. Drawn to Cherry Creek by oxen 1837. Solomon Hinche purchased the property from Noah Wheeler. The property had a mill called Hinche Mill. Henry and Bertha Peters purchased the Hinche property. The stones were moved during World War II to their home, South Side Avenue, Cherry Creek. After Henry's death they were moved to 32 Barton Street, Mayville, NY in 1978. They were donated to the Cherry Creek Museum in 2001 by Harold and Liz Peters.
