Two presidential unit citations:
Kiel, Germany 14 May, 1943.
Ploesti, Rumania 1 August 1943 - daylight low level attack on Rumanian oil refineries.

Colonel Leon W. Johnson Medal of Honor for Ploesti raid leadership. Served and trained at Barksdale Field from 7 February to 26 July, 1942. During first bomb group to train with B-24 Liberators. Moved to Will Rogers Field, OK on 26 July to prepare for overseas deployment.

Located at the Barksdale Air Force Base Global Power Museum, open seven days a week from 9:30 a.m. until 4 p.m. and free to the public. Access is at the Northgate Road base entrance. A Government issued ID, (Drivers License, Passport etc.) is required to gain entry.
