Lakewood in Chautauqua County, New York — The American Northeast (Mid-Atlantic)
Lakewood Village Hall
The building retains much of the original appearence including the 70 foot hose drying tower. A mid-20th century addition to the west side of the original building housed an expanded fire department. The arched windows on the building's front have replaced the original hinged double doors.
In 1995 the Fire Department built a new fire station on Packard Blvd and Chautauqua Ave. The Fire Company's space at Village Hall is now occupied by the Lakewood-Busti Police Department. The early fire truck and first alarm bell are on display at the George V. Blackstone Fire Museum at the present fire station.
Erected 2010 by Lakewood History Committee. (Marker Number 4.)
