He was a driving defensive force behind LSU's run to the 2003 National Championship. A finalist for both the Nagurski and Outland Awards, he earned All-American honors and was named the SEC's Defensive Player of the Year. The Sporting News named him National Defensive Player of the Year. He was selected in the fifth round of the NFL draft by the Atlanta Falcons.
