The Joshua Pruitt House
The Joshua Pruitt House is one of the oldest on Tangier.
Joshua Pruitt (1866-1949) and his wife Amanda took in boarders, teachers, and held worship services in their front yard.
Pruitt traveled to Washington, DC, during the Great Depression, knocked on the front door of the White House and was granted an audience with President Franklin Delano Roosevelt.
