Regarding Moritz Perles. The "Annexation" of Austria referred to on the marker was the forced incorporation of Austria into the German Reich on March 12-13, 1938. One immediate consequence of this was the Aryanization of Austrian businesses, with the Perles firm effectively being expropriated from its Jewish owners.
