Fue casa habitación del sacerdote, investigador y filántropo quien realizó enorme contribución a la historiografía chiapaneca. Fue director del Seminario de la Inmaculada Concepción y celoso custodio del Archivo Parroquial de Catedral. Al morir legó todos sus bienes a los necesitados, entre ellos este asilo San Juan de Dios

This was the home of the priest, researcher and philanthropist who made an enormous contribution to the historiography of Chiapas. He was director of the Seminary of the Immaculate Conception and a jealous custodian of the Cathedral’s Parish Archive. When he died he bequeathed all his goods to the needy, among them this shelter dedicated to San Juan de Dios (Saint John of God).
