1. Smokehouse Marker
Inscription. The Smokehouse was originally a train depot at LSU's Alex Box Stadium where students boarded the train to New Orleans. It was moved to the museum in 1973 and adapted for use as a smokehouse. Smoking meat was a method of preserving pork, beef and wild game.
