Inscription.  Baltimore Police Badge No. 122. In memory of Lieutenant Owen E. Sweeney, Jr. Baltimore Police Department. Sworn June 10, 1963. Killed in the Line of Duty, May 7, 1997 while selflessly helping his fellow officers preserve the tranquility of this Baltimore neighborhood.

Owen Sweeney’s remarkable twenty-nine year career of steadfast, dedicated service to the citizens of Baltimore will be an inspiration for every officer who aspires to be the finest of the finest.
