Established in 1946, the Naval Reserve Center occupied this site in 1948 and was in continuous service until 22 July 1995 when it was moved to White River Junction, Vermont. Closing the center ended one chapter but Vermont’s contribution to our Navy and Marine Corps still continues.

Since the naval actions of the 1770’s, the region has sent seamen and admirals to sea. This memorial honors all the men and women who have served and continue to serve in the United States Navy, Marine Corps, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine.
