Inscription. Erie County Courthouse Facade Restoration Project. . Erie County Government, with financial assistance from the Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission, began restoration work on the courthouse in June of 2001. The West Wing of this Classical U-shaped Greek Revival structure was built in 1855. The East Wing was not constructed until 1930. The courthouse is the oldest government building in continuous use in Erie County and is eligible for listing in the National Register of Historic Places.,
