Inscription.
This exhibit was manufactured at Brooklands by Vickers-Armstrong Ltd in 1960 and first operated by Austrian Airlines registered OE-LAG.

It was later purchased by the Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE) and as XT575 used for test flying. It’s final task was to perform flight trials for under water search radar equipment installed in a largeradome beneath the forward fuselage. It was sold in 1993, and the cockpit section donated to Brooklands Museum.

Vickers Viscount XT575 painted in RAE colours. Note the large radome under the fuselage containing radar equipment, and slipper fuel tank on wing.
