Vickers Viscount 837 XT575 Cockpit Section (1960)
This exhibit was manufactured at Brooklands by Vickers-Armstrong Ltd in 1960 and first operated by Austrian Airlines registered OE-LAG.
It was later purchased by the Royal Aircraft Establishment (RAE) and as XT575 used for test flying. It’s final task was to perform flight trials for under water search radar equipment installed in a largeradome beneath the forward fuselage. It was sold in 1993, and the cockpit section donated to Brooklands Museum.
