This Excellent Example of Richardsonian
Romanesque Architecture was Built as the
City Expanded Northward to Meet the Needs
of the Alaskan Gold Rush. It, also was
Long in Use as a Workingmens Hotel, and
Has Been Converted to Apartment Housing.
This is the Oldest Building in the First
Avenue Group.
Erected 1986.

Regarding Grand Pacific Hotel. The Grand Pacific Hotel building, along with its northern neighbor, the Colonial Hotel, were both listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982. Today they are known collectively as the Colonial Grand Pacific.
