1. Old Augusta Marker
Inscription. Two miles north, on banks of Leaf River. Famous as the first county seat of Perry County and site of trial of the famous outlaw, James Copeland. Served also as U.S. land office.
 
Erected 1949 by Mississippi Historical Commission.
