1. Home of Thomas Jefferson Chambers Marker
Inscription.  Surveyor General of Texas, 1829. Sole superior judge of Texas before 1836. Active in the cause of independence. Member of Secession Convention, 1861. Chambersea, later Anahuac, and a Texas county were named in his honor.
 
Erected 1936 by State of Texas. (Marker Number 9116.)
