1. It These Walls Could Talk Marker
Inscription. If these walls could talk, many interesting stories would be told. Using materials from the surrounding area, James (Jerry) G. Marsh constructed this log building in 1933 & 1934, and it was the first tavern in Benewah County to have a beer license. Later in 1940, Jerry moved an old dance hall next to the building and remodeled that into a larger tavern. His mother, Lettie, moved into the vacated log building and used it as her home until 1953. Originally located on Marsh Hill along US Highway 95 south of Skyline Drive, it was moved to its present location as part of the highway improvement project in 2004.
